"This entry shows evidence of a very competent writer. I think the story would have been more interesting had it begun with the rain-drenched Anna Bagnold pointing into the storm. What a very strong image! There were several rough spots that made the plot unclear. I almost gave this entry a '2' but the strong images and spine-tingling ending gave me enough chills to award it a '3.' Good job for a rough draft, but it definitely deserves a rewrite."

"The promise of adventure, especially on Halloween night, is always an excellent premise--albeit a frequent one. The passage is generally well written but lacks enough tension. However, I love the apprehension that Todd feels before entering the ship. Build it up some more! The ending could have been stronger with a few added sensory details. This entry is definitely a solid '3' but needs so much more to rank any higher. Details! Details! Details!"
